Genesis 49:22 Joseph is a fruitful vine,
a fruitful vine near a spring;
Dear friends, the secret of fruitfulness is being planted near a spring. That river or spring is the gospel of Jesus Christ and the saving the grace of God that comes to us through the holy word of God and through sacraments. May God plant our life near the ever flowing grace of God. In Jesus name, Amen!!
Today I am traveling to Canada to teach in a Bible College/Institute called CLBI. CLBI is in Camrose, in this great state of Alberta, Canada. Please keep the entire institute and our ministry in your prayers!!!
May God bless this beautiful nation of Canada and the rest of the world through all of these students at the College.
My friend and colleague David Wendel has written a Lenten devotional named “From Ashes to Easter.” It’s available on the NALC’s website at: www.thenalc.org. For those wishing to receive the Lenten devotional “From Ashes to Easter” via daily text message, please text the word LENT to 614-230-0193. (Standard text message rates apply – for the United States only.)
As we journey together from “Ashes to Easter” through this Lenten season -a friend and co-worker has written a daily Lenten devotional. In addition, we’ve created a “daily” response. The idea is to leverage what we are already doing for the sake of the Gospel to cultivate relationships by writing a short note, email, text message, fb message, etc to the person described each day. Download it for free at: http://www.abidaheartsonfire.com! #ashestoeaster
Please take advantage of the new video resource pages that have been updated in Oromo, Amharic, and English! Also–there are a few days left to register for the NALC’s Mission Festival in Columbus, OH from November 6-8th. Please take advantage of the amazing resources that will be presented and register today: http://thenalc.org/2014-mission-festival. Blessings in the matchless Name of Jesus!
Starting from September 1 we will start a television program in the English program. That is our third language program. Afaan Oromo, Amharic and now English. This broadcast is going to be seen worldwide, with special emphasis on Africa and the middle east. Our mission is presenting the Gospel of Jesus with clarity and simplicity. Our vision is leading people to Jesus. Our name Leadstar refers to the star which led the three wise men from the east to Jesus when he was born.
Please pray for us!
Enjoy this trial production!!!
John 19:30 When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
Jesus said, “It is finished.” Whatever you are doing, wherever you are going, no matter how busy you are, just take a pause and remember the most important work is completely finished. Jesus said it is finished, there is nothing more we have to do to add to this finished work. Just remember to job is done by Jesus. We are saved by God’s grace to be worshippers and witnesses of the one who did all the work. It is finished, it is finished, it is finished let us rejoice beyond measure and declare these everlasting words from the cross with excitement and joy.
Please keep us in your prayers as we are flying across the Atlantic today for a four day ministry time in Africa.
We visited this great monument of four American Presidents, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln. These are amazing leaders and fathers of a great nation. Their images are immortalized on Mount Rushmore, South Dakota. We had a great time visiting this site. My prayer is that, God continue to bless and protect this great nation. May this nation hear and believe in the saving word for God. I also pray, may this nation stay true to its magnificent statements such as, “One nation under God! “, “In God we trust!” and “All men are created equal,…their rights are endowed by God.”
In the beginning was the word… Dear friends if we get the beginning wrong we get everything wrong. May God keep us under the word and never equal to or above the Holy Word of God.
What a wonderful ministry time we had in Slovakia. Our host was a mission organization called CVS, our host leader was a powerful young leader called Slavo. Here is my precious friend on the picture who was interpreting our English messages with a great skill. He is one of those emerging young leaders, his name is Martin. The Lord spoke to me to give him my Bible in the middle of my message. I came home with a great love and affection for Eastern Europe, especially for these great people in Slovakia. May God bless them more and more Amen!!
II Corinthians 8:9 For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich.
Dear friends, poverty is one of those tragic realities of human life. In this verse ‘poverty’ refers to;
Poverty of human spirit
Poverty of human mind
Poverty of human body
Poverty of human heart
Poverty of human conscience
Poverty of human soul
Poverty of human emotions and senses
Jesus came to take all of these upon himself. For our sake he became poor. Through his work and by his grace we became rich in all areas of our life. Your name may not be on the same list with Bill Gates and Warren Buffet. But if you are in Christ your name is listed on a superior list along with Abraham, David, Peter, Paul, Mary, Elizabeth, Luke and Barnabas. This wealth and poverty exchange with Jesus was completed on the cross. Therefore through Jesus we can now stand strong and advance in life as a person made whole and rich by grace alone. Hallelujah!!!!
Blessings upon blessings!!!!
Dear friends our family received a third child. Labsi and Debbie are rejoicing over this great joy with the birth of their new sister, Raya.
Those who wait upon the Lord, will renew their strength. We waited and prayed for seven years without any child but now we are blessed with three wonderful children. This is a powerful witness of God’s goodness!! Thank you for your prayers and good wishes, Nassi and baby Raya are doing very well!!!!
